The Responsibilities: Volunteers will be assigned on a random basis to monitor meeting rooms, assist with registration, and assist faculty and staff. You will be scheduled to work approximately four to five hours per day. Please see the schedule page for any evening events, as you may be scheduled during that time.
You will need to be able to attend the Full Conference (December 8th – 11th, 2016) and have open availability throughout the entire conference. The MANDATORY Volunteers Meeting will be on Wednesday, December 7th at 6:00PM at the Town and Country Suites in San Diego. You will be required to attend this meeting – NO EXCEPTIONS – so please plan your travel accordingly.
You will not be able to choose the workshops for which you are assigned, and switching is not permitted, however; when not assigned, you may attend any sessions you prefer during FULL CONFERENCE only. Remember: You will be able to claim credit toward a Certificate of Attendance stating your hours for all sessions worked and attended! Closer to the Conference, you might be contacted about specific availability for a Pre or Post Conference day.
Volunteers should be able to understand and communicate in English and have legible handwriting; they should be able to stand for a period of time if their duty assignment is to check in attendees at one of the doors. Volunteers should also be able to communicate rules and regulations, do not sign up if you are not comfortable confronting attendees. All other expenses related to the Conference including hotel accommodation, transportation, parking, meals, etc. are the responsibility of the volunteer. If you cannot adhere to ALL of the above requirements, please do not sign up and consider signing up as an attendee.
The Cost: the cost of attending as a volunteer is $35.00. You will be refunded $85.00 of the original deposit ($120.00) after you have successfully completed your volunteer duties as assigned. The checks will be mailed 6 to 8 weeks after the conference.
All cancellations must be in writing or to support@ erickson-foundation and there will be a $50.00 administrative charge for each cancellation. Cancellations received that are NOT postmarked or emailed by November 8, 2016 will not be eligible for a refund.
