Biography
Dr. Pamela Kaiser is co-founder and co-director of the U.S National Pediatric Hypnosis Training Institute (NPHTI) and is recognized internationally for her expertise in teaching about pediatric anxiety, stress, mind-body issues, self-regulation, resilience, and hypnosis. As a former medical school faculty member, she conducted research on the impact of children’s individual differences in stress reactivity on mental and medical health, and was a co-recipient of a National Teaching Award for developing an innovative behavioral-developmental and mental health training program. Drawing on her multidisciplinary background (PhD in clinical child & adolescent psychology, Masters degrees in both clinical psychology and pediatric nursing ), fifteen years of studying Yapko’s solution-oriented hypnosis approach, training certificates in biofeedback and mindfulness, and forty-five years of clinical and teaching experience, her blending of evidence-based approaches with practical strategies are reflected in her publications, teaching, and clinical practice. With this unique perspective, she joins with the student and parents to set specific goals and plan interactive, solution-based strategies to promote hardier self-regulation, a “growth mindset”, and psychological resilience.
